Tracey Gittere

Tracey Gittere is founder and president of Legendary Events, Inc., a full-service event planning and fundraising firm based in Garden City. She was recently named "2007 Small Business Advocate of the year" by the Long Island Association and was also named "Communicator of the Year" by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Long Island Chapter. She has chaired, managed and volunteered for hundreds of special events over her 25-year career. She has also served as an on-air personality for WLIW-PBS (Channel 21-New York) for seven years where she also handled and secured major corporate funding for public television.

In October, 2001, Tracey saw there was a niche to fill: an events planning company that could also bring to the plate the necessary fundraising expertise, strategic partners, supporters, marketing and public relations to make any event successful, Thusly, the launch of Legendary Events Inc.

Entrenched in the Long Island and New York business communities, Tracey has worked in Event planning, fund-raising, marketing, public relations, communications, and strategic planning positions for 25 years at some of the of the highest profile social and business events, including Long Island Business News; KPMG Peat Marwick; 1-800-FLOWERS.com and Arbor National Mortgage, as well as seven years with the nation's fourth largest public television station, WLIW21, where she also served as an on-air personality. In addition to planning gala fund-raisers, Tracey has also chaired herself many successful charity golf outings and special events.

Tracey is recognized as one of Long Island's top event planning, public relations and community relations professionals. She actively seeks opportunities to connect to her personal dedication in giving back and helping others. Her philanthropic contributions include Long Island's Random Acts of Kindness Week (founded and co-chairman), Island Harvest, Long Island's United Way, Girl Scouts of Nassau County, American Heart Association, Long Island Film and TV Foundation, and the Long Island Coalition for Fair Broadcasting.
